Upgraded GBA SP replacement battery pack (950mAh)
Replace the battery in your SP to get longer playing time before it looses charge.
These batteries deliver 950 mAh which allows for around 10 hours of game play. NOTE These are not the cheaper Chinese alternatives that lose the charge very quickly.
Easy to install - simply remove the battery cover and old battery and replace with this one. Once installed, you require a spludger or similar to remove. Installing and removing a few times makes the process easier.

Tried both on both an OEM shell and an aftermarket shell and both led to bulging of the back of the battery case, I’ve had to secure it the battery cover down with some tape to prevent the battery coming out all together.
This replacement battery is too big for the battery compartment of the GBA SP. It results in the battery door being bulging out in the middle so it sticks out in the corners. It is technically usable but you can constantly feel the edges of the door while holding the console. I know it may sound nit-picky but I like the original hardware to feel like original hardware when using it.
The battery life is good, in my testing I got almost 6 hours of Metroid Zero Mission running in attract mode with an IPS screen (brightness 8 out of 15). The original official battery got around 2 hours.
Also worth noting that I did contact support and they were kind enough to send out a replacement battery that had been pre "squashed" in the hope it would fit better but it had the same issue as the original. At that point I decided to just keep the battery but have since purchased a 900mah generic 3.7 lithium battery from elsewhere that fits without the case warping.
When the description said "this batch is a snug fit in the consoles", I wasn't expecting the battery cover to not even fit flush with the console. that's not "snug", that's "too big". I think a larger battery with a custom (rounded) cover would be better than this one where the cover poking out just results in discomfort. The battery life is good tho so it's functional, but I'm not thrilled about the size at all.
Finally a battery that lasts more than 20 minutes easy to install. Only negative is battery slightly thicker so case bulges on back
Great battery life. However I do have one small complaint in that the battery itself doesn’t fit very well. I did see reviews saying it was a snug fit but I didn’t expect it to make the battery cover protrude the way it does. But it still lasts much much longer than my old battery so I’m not too upset.
